Mox strategy
Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger is a premier top-end threat and one of the strongest colorless finishers ever printed.
Primary strengths: immediate impact plus extreme inevitability. Exiling two target permanents on cast means you get value even if it’s countered or removed later, and the indestructible 10/10 body is very hard to answer. It’s best in ramp decks that can accelerate to 10 mana and want a single card that can swing the game on entry.
Best use cases: big-mana Commander, Eldrazi/ramp shells, Tron-style strategies, and any deck that can reliably produce huge mana fast. It excels against control, midrange, and permanent-based combo decks because it answers key board pieces while threatening a fast clock.
Key synergies: mana acceleration like Sol Ring, Ancient Tomb, Thran Dynamo, and green ramp spells; blink or copy effects can reuse the cast trigger; sacrifice/reanimation or cheat-into-play effects are less ideal than cast-based ramp because the exile trigger specifically cares about casting.
Mechanics supported: cast triggers, exile-based removal, indestructible threats, and alternate win conditions through library depletion. It rewards decks built to survive early turns and then overpower the table with a nearly unstoppable closer.
