Mox strategy
Necropolis Regent is a strong finisher for creature-heavy black decks, especially in Commander and slower midrange shells. A 6/5 flyer for six is already a solid threat, and it quickly snowballs if any evasive creature connects.
Best use cases: go-wide or evasive creature decks that can reliably push combat damage through. It turns small flyers, tokens, and menace/unblockable threats into enormous creatures very fast.
Key synergies: flying, menace, unblockable, token swarms, and double strike all make it scale harder. Effects that give evasion or force through damage are especially strong, since each connecting creature gets counters equal to its combat damage. Extra combat steps can also snowball it absurdly fast.
Gameplay role: it rewards aggressive board development and combat-focused play, but it’s expensive and vulnerable before it attacks. Best when you can protect it or immediately threaten lethal damage after it lands.
