Mox strategy
Venomous Brutalizer is a solid midrange poison threat: a 4/4 body with Toxic 3 that can pressure life totals and poison counters at the same time. Its best use is in green toxic or proliferate decks, where the extra proliferate trigger can snowball poison, loyalty counters, +1/+1 counters, and other counter-based plans.
Its main strength is that it presents immediate combat pressure and gives value even if it isn’t attacking successfully. Paying 1G for proliferate is especially good when you already have poison counters on the opponent, since it can convert a single hit into a faster clock. It’s also decent with evasive support, trample, or ways to force damage through.
Strong synergies include proliferate engines, poison subthemes, and cards that care about counters of any kind. It plays well with cards that add poison counters earlier, because proliferate makes each counter source more threatening. Overall, it’s a straightforward, efficient finisher for toxic decks, but it’s less impressive outside a dedicated counter/poison shell.
