T: Add two mana in any combination of colors. Spend this mana only to cast creature spells.
Formidable — 9GG, T: Each player's life total becomes the number of creatures they control. Activate only if creatures you control have total power 8 or greater.
Mox strategy
Shaman of Forgotten Ways is a strong ramp creature for creature-heavy decks, especially green midrange, Elf builds, and creature combo shells. Its main strength is two mana of any colors for casting creature spells, which accelerates big threats while staying on board as a body.
Its best synergy is with decks that can quickly reach formidable: token makers, mana dorks, and wide boards help turn on the “each player’s life total becomes the number of creatures they control” ability. That finisher can punish lifegain, reset stalled games, or set up an alpha strike if you control more creatures than opponents.
Key mechanics it supports are creature-based ramp, board-wide pressure, and alternate-life-total control. Best use case: a deck that wants early acceleration and has reliable ways to assemble 8+ total power for the late-game swing.
