Mox strategy
Norin the Wary is a low-cost, high-annoyance red creature that shines in shell-building more than raw combat. Its main strength is repeatable self-exile, which makes it hard to remove and easy to trigger enter-the-battlefield or “whenever a creature enters” effects over and over.
Best in Commander, especially in decks built around permanents that care about creatures entering or leaving the battlefield. It pairs extremely well with Impact Tremors, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Soul Warden, Confusion in the Ranks, Genesis Chamber, and Pandemonium-style effects. It also works well with cards that reward cast triggers or blink-style value, even though Norin is not actually blinking other creatures.
Key mechanics it supports are ETB loops, token production, life gain triggers, and attrition-based engines. Practical tip: don’t treat it as an attacker; treat it as a trigger engine and a nuisance piece that repeatedly vanishes to dodge removal and fuel value.
