Mox strategy
Map the Frontier is a solid ramp spell for green decks that specifically want basic lands or Deserts. Its main strength is putting up to two lands directly onto the battlefield tapped, which is efficient mana acceleration and helps fix mana while developing board presence.
Best use cases are midrange, landfall, and Desert-focused decks, especially in Commander where tutoring two lands is valuable. It’s strongest when you can repeatedly leverage land drops, landfall triggers, or Desert synergies.
Good synergies include landfall payoffs, cards that untap or recur lands, and Desert-matters cards. It also pairs well with effects that care about basics entering, or decks that want to thin the deck and hit future land drops.
Key mechanic it supports is ramp through land tutoring, with added flexibility from Desert selection. The tapped clause means it’s better for setup than immediate tempo, but the card advantage in mana development can be very strong.
