Mox strategy
Lord of the Nazgûl is a strong Commander build-around for spell-heavy Dimir decks. Its biggest strength is turning every instant and sorcery into board presence, making cantrips, removal, and cheap interaction all double as token generation. The nine-Wraith threshold gives a real payoff, letting your army suddenly become huge and swing for lethal.
Best use cases: token/spells hybrid decks, control shells that want inevitability, and Wraith tribal themes. It works especially well with low-cost cantrips, bounce, counterspells, and cheap draw spells that let you trigger it multiple times in a turn.
Key synergies: extra-turn or spell-copy effects, cheap recursion and flashback spells, and token doublers/anthem effects that boost the Wraith swarm. Cards that reward casting many spells in one turn are especially effective because they can quickly flood the board and reach the 9-Wraith bonus.
Gameplay mechanics it supports: spell-triggered token production, tribal scaling, evasion through menace, and combat dominance via temporary stat boosts. The protection from Ring-bearers can also matter in LOTR-themed pods, making your Wraiths hard to block in the right matchup.
