Target creature gets +2/-2 until end of turn.
Mox strategy
Lash of Malice is a cheap combat trick/removal spell that shines for winning combat, pushing through damage, or shrinking a key attacker at instant speed.
Best uses:
- Efficiently kills small and medium creatures in combat
- Lets your attacker survive fights by boosting toughness reduction on an enemy creature
- Excellent in aggressive black decks that want tempo and surprise
Synergies:
- Pairs well with deathtouch creatures, since reducing toughness makes almost any block favorable
- Strong with sacrifice or aristocrat decks that want a low-cost spell to trigger spell-based payoffs
- Works nicely with infect, menace, or evasive threats by clearing blockers and forcing damage through
Key mechanics:
- Instant-speed interaction
- Combat trick
- Temporary stat modification
- Creature removal/tempo disruption
Overall: a solid, flexible one-mana black trick, especially good in Limited and low-curve aggressive or sacrifice decks.
