Mox strategy
Jodah, Archmage Eternal is a powerful cost-cheating commander for big-mana and 5-color decks. Its main strength is turning any spell into a “pay WUBRG instead” threat, letting you cast huge haymakers far ahead of curve and smooth out awkward mana costs.
Best use cases are Commander decks packed with expensive spells, cascades of multicolor haymakers, or a toolbox of high-impact legends and sorceries. It shines most when your deck is built to generate all five colors reliably and contains lots of cards you’re happy to cast for exactly five mana.
Key synergies include extra-turn spells, Eldrazi, domain payoffs, and high-cost board wipes or game-ending bombs. It also pairs well with effects that reduce costs or generate treasure, since those make it easier to repeatedly cast large spells and recover after interaction.
Practical tip: build around mana fixing, ramp, and spell quality rather than combat. Jodah is at his best when your deck is dense with expensive, high-impact cards that immediately swing the game.
