Mox strategy
Jennika's Technique is a flexible red sweeper with a strong tempo angle. Its main strength is clearing small boards or finishing off weakened creatures while costing only R when you can enable Sneak, making it very efficient in aggressive or evasive decks.
Best use cases are in decks that attack with creatures likely to go unblocked, especially token-heavy or go-wide red decks that can spare a creature returning to hand. It’s also useful as a combat trick against X/2s and smaller, and as a pseudo-removal spell when you need to break through stalled boards.
Key synergies include creatures that naturally attack safely, cheap token makers, and bounce/recursion effects that turn the “return an unblocked attacker” cost into an upside. It works well with creatures that have attack triggers, since replaying them can generate extra value.
Mechanically, it supports tempo, combat manipulation, and conditional mass damage. It’s strongest when your deck can reliably engineer unblocked attacks, and weaker when you’re behind or facing larger creatures that survive 2 damage.
