Mox strategy
Jagged Barrens is a solid budget dual land for black-red decks, especially if you can tolerate tapped lands. Its biggest strength is fixing mana while adding a small amount of chip damage, which is useful in aggressive or midrange shells that want to keep pressure on life totals.
Best in Rakdos aggro, sacrifice, and landfall/desert-themed decks where the extra damage is relevant and the tapped drawback is less punishing. It also has minor synergy with Desert cards, land-recursion, and effects that care about lands entering the battlefield.
Key mechanics it supports are mana fixing, life total pressure, and Desert synergies. It’s strongest in slower formats or casual Commander where the ETB tapped downside is easier to absorb, but it’s usually below premium duals for fast competitive play.
