Insult // Injury is a strong flexible tempo-and-burst spell.
Best use cases: Insult is the real payoff, turning combat, burn, and damage-based board wipes into lethal threats by doubling all damage you deal that turn and shutting off prevention. Injury is a solid backup mode, picking off a creature while also pinging face or planeswalkers for 2.
Key synergies: Best with cheap burn, combat tricks, damage-based sweepers, and cards that deal damage multiple times or in big chunks. It gets especially nasty with creature combat, pingers, or spells like Earthquake-style effects, since doubling scales fast. Injury’s aftermath also gives you a second spell from the graveyard, which helps in grindy games.
Gameplay role: Primarily a finisher and combat amplifier, not a standalone value card. It’s strongest in red decks that can convert one turn of doubled damage into lethal pressure, and it rewards planning a big turn rather than casting it casually.
