Mox strategy
Guardian of the Guildpact is a strong defensive finisher, especially in Pauper and other lower-power formats. Protection from monocolored makes it very hard for many decks to remove in combat or with spot removal, so it shines against creature-heavy or removal-light metas.
Best uses: stalled board states, control decks, and decks that want a resilient blocker or slow clock. It can wear Equipment well and force opponents to rely on multicolored answers, sweepers, or edicts.
Synergies: equipment and auras that improve its damage output, sacrifice protection from other effects via white-based protection shells, and cards that create board stalls so it can close the game safely. It pairs especially well with support that handles edict effects and with cards that punish monocolored strategies.
Key mechanics: protection from monocolored stops targeted removal, damage, blocking, enchanting, and equipping from monocolored sources. It’s not truly unblockable, but it is difficult to interact with for many decks and very efficient at holding the ground.
