Mox strategy
Display of Power is a high-ceiling, combo-oriented red instant that shines in spell-heavy mirrors or storm-style decks. Its main strength is converting an existing stack of instant/sorcery spells into a huge burst of extra value, especially when opponents or you have multiple impactful spells on the stack.
Best use cases: copying a pile of burn, extra turn, tutors, or draw spells; punishing stack clutter in multiplayer; and enabling explosive turns in spell-slinger decks. It’s strongest when there are already several relevant spells on the stack, since it scales dramatically with board/stack presence.
Key synergies: works well with storm payoffs, spell-copy engines, and decks that deliberately build a large stack with cheap cantrips and interaction. It pairs especially well with cards that cast multiple spells in one turn, or that create a busy stack for a big swing.
Gameplay mechanics it supports: spell copying, stack interaction, and flexible target retargeting on copies. Be aware it can’t copy itself, so it’s not a standalone engine; it needs a developed stack to be worthwhile.
