Mox strategy
Desmond Miles is a cheap, evasive Assassin payoff that works best in tribal and graveyard-focused builds. Menace helps him connect early, and the +1/+0 scaling can make him a real threat if you stock the deck with Assassins and keep them flowing into the graveyard.
Best use cases: Assassin tribal, black aggro, and self-mill/surveil decks that want a scalable attacker and card-selection on hit. The combat-damage surveil trigger is excellent for setting up draws, binning recursion targets, and fueling graveyard synergies.
Strong synergies: other Assassins to pump him, self-mill to load the graveyard bonus, and combat-damage enhancers to increase surveil X. He also pairs well with recursion and graveyard value cards, since discarded Assassins still count toward his power.
Key mechanics enabled: tribal scaling, menace-based pressure, combat damage triggers, and graveyard setup through surveil. Overall, he’s efficient in the right shell but fairly low-impact outside Assassin density.
