Oracle text
This spell costs 1 less to cast for each E (energy counter) you've paid or lost this turn.
Haste
Whenever this creature attacks, you get EE, then you may pay eight E. When you do, this creature deals 8 damage divided as you choose among up to eight targets.
Mox strategy
Blaster Hulk is a high-ceiling finisher for red energy decks: a hasty 8/8 that can threaten a huge attack trigger and convert stored energy into 8 split damage across up to eight targets. Its main strength is closing games fast while also picking off multiple creatures, planeswalkers, or players.
Best use cases: aggressive or midrange Commander decks that already make lots of energy, especially ones that can gain and spend energy repeatedly in the same turn. The cost reduction based on energy paid or lost can make it much easier to deploy ahead of curve.
Strong synergies: anything that generates extra energy on attack or throughout the turn, and cards that let you bank, copy, or repeatedly spend energy. It pairs well with energy engines that already want a big payoff creature to finish the game.
Key mechanics: haste, attack-triggered energy generation, energy-based cost reduction, and scalable divided damage. The big practical tip is to include reliable energy support; without it, this is mostly just a solid but expensive 8/8.
