Assquatch is a quirky tribal payoff for Donkey decks, but it’s narrow and mostly a novelty build-around. Its biggest strength is turning every other Donkey into a much larger threat, which can quickly snowball board presence in a dedicated tribal shell.
The most powerful part is the triggered control effect: every time another Donkey enters, you can temporarily steal a creature, untap it, and give it haste. That makes repeated token production, blink, reanimation, or clone effects especially strong because they repeatedly convert Donkey ETBs into combat pressure and tempo swings.
Best use cases are casual tribal decks focused on generating multiple Donkey entries in a turn. It pairs well with token makers, blink engines, creature recursion, and any cards that can repeatedly trigger enter-the-battlefield effects. It also supports aggressive combat lines by stealing blockers or turning a board into lethal damage.
Overall, it’s a high-synergy tribal enabler with strong upside in the right deck, but it’s too specialized for most formats.
