Mox strategy
Archfiend's Vessel is a cheap lifelink body that shines when you can reliably get it onto the battlefield from your graveyard. Its main strength is turning a one-mana creature into a 5/5 flying Demon, which is excellent rate if you can recur it consistently.
Best use cases are sacrifice, reanimator-adjacent, and grindy black decks that can mill, discard, or loop creatures from the graveyard. It’s especially strong with self-mill, discard outlets, or cards that return creatures to hand/graveyard.
Key synergies include effects like Unearth, Claim // Fame-style recursion, persist-style engines, and sacrifice outlets that let you move it from the battlefield to the graveyard and then cast or reanimate it again later. It also pairs well with cards that care about death triggers or cheap creatures entering the graveyard.
Gameplay-wise, it supports graveyard recursion, token production, and sacrifice loops. On its own it is modest, but in the right shell it becomes a high-value threat that can snowball quickly.
