Cascade, cascade, cascade, cascade (When you cast this spell, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card that costs less. You may cast it without paying its mana cost. Put the exiled cards on the bottom in a random order. Multiple instances of cascade each trigger separately.)
Mox strategy
Apex Devastator is a huge top-end payoff: a 10/10 for 10 mana that can generate an explosive chain of free spells when cast. Its biggest strength is sheer card advantage and tempo swing; if your deck is built to hit 10 mana reliably, it can often refill your board and hand in one turn. Best in ramp-heavy Commander shells, especially ones that can cheat on mana, copy spells, or maximize spell chains.
It’s strongest with high-impact spells that cost less than 10, since each cascade can hit more ramp, draw, removal, or additional threats. It also pairs well with topdeck manipulation, deck building that avoids too many cheap whiffs, and effects that reward casting spells off cascade. In practice, it supports explosive mid-to-late game turns and can overwhelm slower tables quickly, but it’s clunky in low-curve or interaction-heavy formats.
