Mox strategy
Altar’s Light is a clean, unconditional answer to artifacts or enchantments, best in Commander or slower white decks that want a flexible removal spell. Its main strength is permanently exiling problematic permanents, which is especially valuable against gods, equipment, combo artifacts, and graveyard-enabling enchantments. It’s strongest when your meta has high-impact artifacts/enchantments and you can afford 4 mana at instant speed.
It pairs well with cards that care about permanents being exiled or with recursion/rebound effects that let you reuse removal. It also fits decks that need broad answers rather than narrow creature removal, and it helps support white’s role as a control and hate-color. The main drawback is efficiency: 4 mana is expensive compared to many modern removal options, so it’s usually a meta call rather than an auto-include.
