Ninjutsu 2B (2B, Return an unblocked attacker you control to hand: Put this card onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking.)
Whenever Nashi, Moon Sage's Scion deals combat damage to a player, exile the top card of each player's library. Until end of turn, you may play one of those cards. If you cast a spell this way, pay life equal to its mana value rather than paying its mana cost.
Mox strategy
A-Nashi, Moon Sage's Scion is a strong evasive value engine for tempo and graveyard-adjacent/“steal your best top card” strategies. Its 3/2 body plus ninjutsu makes it easy to sneak in early, and combat damage can create card advantage by letting you play a card from the top of each library.
Best in decks that can reliably attack unblocked, especially with cheap evasive creatures, token makers, or bounce/return effects to reuse ninjutsu. It’s strongest when you can convert the stolen card into immediate tempo, since paying life instead of mana can let you cast an expensive spell far ahead of curve.
Key synergies:
- Evasive 1-drops and cheap attackers to enable ninjutsu
- Topdeck manipulation like scry, surveil, or library stacking to improve the card you exiled
- Extra combat or repeated combat-damage triggers to keep generating value
- Life-gain or resilient life totals to offset the life-payment mode
Gameplay role:
- Early pressure with stealth threat deployment
- Flexible pseudo-card draw/copy effect from opponents’ decks
- Good in midrange-tempo shells that want a threat that also generates advantage rather than just damage
